Your Dog Will Thank You For These Amazing Homemade Chicken Jello Snacks
Share
If you love cooking for your family members, your dog should be no exception. It’s easy to pick out cute treats near the checkout aisle at the pet store, but you can have more fun making fresh treats for your dog at home. We’ve got a recipe for homemade Chicken-Flavored Jello treats your dog will go nuts for, and you probably already have most of the ingredients in your kitchen.
These doggie snacks can be made with just a few ingredients, all safe for dogs to eat. So make sure to follow the recipe guidelines, especially when it comes to the type of gelatin you use. Most pre-made gelatin has extra ingredients and additives that aren’t good for dogs.
Here is the complete video recipe!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 lb. chicken breast
- 1 large carrot washed peeled and chopped
- sprig of parsley (no stems)
- 1 packet of Knox unsweetened/unflavored gelatin power
- Water (amount below)
SUPPLIES
- Large mixing bowl
- 1 Pot
- 1 Baking Sheet
- 1-2 Silicone bone or paw shaped molds
- Blender
- Stovetop
- Whisk
- Peeler or knife
- Spoon
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
(As usual, don’t forget to disinfect any items or surfaces that may come into contact with raw chicken!)
Place the chicken, carrot, and parsley into a pot. Add enough water to cover it all.
Turn the burner on to medium high heat.
It should take about 30 minutes to cook the chicken, soften the carrots, and infuse the water with flavor.
When that’s done, put the chicken and carrots into a blender and puree them.
Measure out 1/2 cup freshly-made chicken broth.
Pour chicken broth into a mixing bowl and whisk in packet of Knox unflavored gelatin (to give the treats their jello texture.)
Mix in the pureed chicken and carrot mixture. (It should be gravy-like in texture)
Place silicone bone shape mold on top of a baking sheet.
Spoon your mixture into the molds.
Let them sit for about 1-2 hours in refrigerator to set.
Now feed one (or two or three) to your eager dog.
And that’s it! You’ve got healthy treats your pup will love, and you got to see every ingredient that went in them. Aren’t they gorgeous?
